1956 Ford Thunderbird with 25,942 Original Miles! This was a complete professional restoration that began in 2003. The owner purchased this car from a Kruse auction at Sawgrass Mills in 2002 ($27,030 pre-restoration) and began the restoration the following year. This was a complete and straight driver prior to restoration. We have pictures of the car prior to doing the work and it was excellent and straight. This '56 was restored in our facility (Albany Auto Chicago) using the highest grade paint and materials and the highest skilled technicians. Panel metals were worked by hand to ensure that the least amount of fillers would be used ensuring a straight and clean finished product. Notice the fit and finish of each panel and just how clean this car is. It was garage kept prior to the restoration and has been since completion. The chrome and trim is outstanding and needs to be seen in person to appreciate. The panels are as straight as you will find and free of 'washboard' waves and pockets. The body is perfect and probably straighter than when the car came off the production line
We have all restoration documents and receipts that will go with the sale of the car
This is a hardtop and soft-top car in its original Fiesta Red color. It began as a very straight and clean car and is now in top show quality. Every nut and bolt was gone through and as you can see there was no money spared in making this as nice as possible. Body lines are straight and true, panel to panel
The motor was rebuilt and all mechanicals where gone through and repaired or replaced. It runs and drives brilliantly. It has a nice, quiet, clean idle and revs up nice and quick. The owner preferred the glasspacks so we decided to leave them on the car. It drives nice and straight and its smooth as can be. It shifts crisp and clean and stops smooth and straight. It is equipped with power steering and AC. It has a set of Kelsey Hayes mag wheels on it that are in excellent condition. They are wrapped by a set of Coker Classic whitewalls in like new condition. The soft-top is new as of 2002 and is in excellent shape. The hardtop is included and is in great shape. We did not paint/restore the hardtop as it was quite nice to begin with. The interior is complete and very nice. Everything functions properly and looks great. We had one small issue with the original hood release under-dash arm so we fabricated a simple pull cable instead (under dash). The passenger side door has a little up/down play in it when opened but it closes nice and straight
Overall this car is stunning and would make a perfect showroom car or a summer driver. We normally see restoration jobs that look good in pictures and not good in person. This car actually looks better in person and I recommend you schedule a time to come see it in our showroom. We pride ourselves on our attention to detail when restoring vehicles and this car is a prime example. From hand blocking the entire car before paint to spending days wet sanding to ensure perfection in the final product, we guarantee this car will not disappoint
