This is the finest example of a 2004 Saleen S281 that you will find. Car #38 has a mere 31,000 miles on the clock and shows mostly highway miles. This S281 SC started as a GT Deluxe coupe before it was shipped directly to Saleen where it was morphed into the animal that it is today. This S281 has a Tremec T-56 Magnum 6-Speed gearbox in it! Finished in Black over Dark Charcoal Leather this car shows like no other. The 4.6L V8 has a twin screw intercooled supercharger that forces fresh air down the gut and out through a high performance exhaust that sounds like bomb when you get in the throttle. The power meets the rear wheels by way of a 6-speed gear box and a short throw shifter. By the time you get the power to the optional 18x10" street meats the 415 ft lbs of torque have already got you buried in the the seat wondering why the seat belt is loose. This car is an absolute handful to drive and it has a frightening bark to boot
The front bumper is perfect without a scratch on it. The hood is perfect and not waffled like most cars from this time frame. The body is straight and free of damage. Minor nicks and abrasions are detected only when you put your face within in inch of the car. I have seen a lot of Saleens and this is one of the best. The, usually questionable, paint work from Saleen has been taken car of on the add on parts (Front and rear bumpers, hood, spoiler, sail panels, etc..) This car is standing tall and shines bright. The body lines are tight and flush. The cleanliness and overall condition is reflected on the clean CARFAX report
The interior is SMOKE FREE and near perfect condition. The carpets are clean and plush, free of stains. The seat leathers are nice and show minimal wear only in the drivers seat. It looks like nobody ever sat in the back seat. The stereo is LCD display with Bluetooth wired in. There are two aux options, usb and regular audio adapter. Backed by the Mach 460 sound system
We serviced the car, at our in house mechanical shop, which included: oil service, inspection, coolant flush (new thermostat installed), tire inspection, bushing test. We even had an alignment done to ensure proper tire wear. The suspension is as tight as the shift pattern and the car doesn't make a noise going over bumps. The clutch is tight and doesn't slip at all. The temps run nice and cool thanks to the added Saleen Performance Cooling Package. This car will not disappoint
