The Ford Falcon Sedan Delivery was built to be a commercial vehicle for the thrifty business man! Most of the Sedan Deliveries were painted with a company logo in the window delete “panel” and used to haul and deliver goods. When some business owners wanted a little more flash, they checked the option box marked “Deluxe”. This option group gave the buyer upgrades like bright metal moldings around the window frames and tailgate window openings, an arm rest, a passenger sun visor, a black or red steering wheel with horn ring, a cigarette lighter, a dome light door switch, and red or black vinyl upholstery
This example is presented in Smurf Blue, which is a deeper shade compared to the Glacier Blue the car was born with. The exterior is showing age in the typical rust spots throughout. However, the sheet metal does appear to be original and correct. The doors shut nicely and the panel fit is good considering the age. All exterior trim is intact along with the glass too. Inward, the floorboards have seen better days and do need to be replaced, along with some areas around the roof structure, towards the rear of the vehicle. Structural ares like the shock towers and subframe are all intact despite other rust areas. This is typical of cars that have sat for long periods of time. Original seat springs are with the vehicle but not installed, along with sill plates, and seat belts. The dash and steering wheel are correct and intact along with the gauges and knobs
Our Falcon features the 170 cubic inch, straight six engine that produces 85 horsepower, and is backed by a 3 speed column shift transmission. Being that this car was stored for the last 20 some years, the engine is not in running condition but we are currently trying to get it to run. The transmission does engage all gears forward and reverse and seems to be intact along with the rest of the drive line
We have verified the build numbers at 113 on this car but cannot begin to guess how many are left! These Sedan Deliveries worked hard to serve their owners for several decades but most were put out to pasture.
