Here is your chance to own a unique early production 462 4-v Continental in incredible condition. We will call it a survivor even though it looks like it may have seen a respray about 10 years ago. Finished in her factory correct Wimbledon White over a Light Blue Limoges Brocade interior and covered with a Black Heritage Roof this '68 is sure to impress. You will need to see this car up close to truly appreciate the originality and condition. This Continental appears to have been tucked away somewhere nice and dry for many years as we cannot find a single bubble under the vinyl roof which is strangely uncommon. We can track its history to Missouri for most of its life and then to South Dakota before it was purchace and DRIVEN back to Chicago. The quarters and rockers remain original and perfectly solid. The panel gaps are true and the body is nice and straight. The door seams are dry and solid on all doors. The unibody structure on the underside is excellent, due in part to the standard factory undercoating. The rails and leaf spring boxes are dry and solid. The rear fuel cell is even straight and not dented which is unusual. The bushings are all complete and intact. This car is really fantastic all around. We even note original FoMo headlights ! All glass, chrome and bright-work on this time capsule are excellent
The inside offers the original Brocade interior and carpets in near perfect condition. Very light ware throughout. We note excellent finishes on all interior trim and bezels. The dash is in top condition and the gauges and wood grain all show brilliantly. We note a few very small separations in the front seat material from entry that we would recommend leaving alone. This is a NON SMOKER that was clearly well cared for and does not appear to have had any passengers in the back seat. The headliner is nice and taught and clean, free of stains or fade. The glass is clear and in excellent shape
The car is very well appointed in terms of options. full power options: including power front vent windows, six way power seat and power antenna. All appear to be in good working order. The AC with Automatic Temp Control was just serviced ($1,000) and blows ice cold and works perfectly. The Cruise Control powers up properly and would appear to be in good working order. We note the push button switch for the cruise needs to be replaced. The AM radio with Power Antennae powers up nicely and while the antennae motor works we note that the cable may be off track as it does not raise. All speakers and head unit work nicely as they should. Power windows all function nice and smooth. We note the rear drivers window can be a little slow at times and may need servicing in the future. Power vent windows work great and are a neat option. The 6 way adjustable seat works great and makes for added comfort
