If Rusty Jones could see just how good this warrantied Trans Am has held up to rust he would have bought more stock in General Motors! We have the original Rusty Jones warranty certificate as well as the intact decal still on the rear glass. Forget the original window sticker that we still have, this car tells the story all on its own. Donna Moore ordered this fuel friendly Trans Am from Don Medow Pontiac in South Bend Indiana on 9/26/79. She owned the car until the summer of 2014 when it was purchased and brought up to Chicago. Having sat covered in here garage for the better part of the last 2 decades this car is a bit of a time capsule. It is in her original Cameo white up top and down low. The optional custom trim interior in Carmine red velour, covers the seats and interior trim while the optional bird decal wraps the shaker scoop on the hood. Donna even had them match the belt color to the interior to the tune of $23 extra dollars. She didn't stop the options there, this T/A also has Soft Ray Glass throughout as well as factory installed T-Tops ($655). She ordered the rear electronic defroster, power windows, tilt steering wheel, and radio
The neat part of this car is the condition that it is still in today. Solid throughout the panels and frame this car shows us no signs or accidents or rust. We notice some paint work here and there, possibly a respray in its original cameo white however we cannot be certain because many of the cars in the 70's looked mediocre from the factory anyways. Regardless, this car is a looker and is sharp as ever. The lines are all nice and tight throughout the body. Front and rear bumper have some normal blemishes from parking and the fender vents have some light weathering inside the pockets. The interior is incredibly clean and original except for the radio and a couple small speakers that were recently installed. The trim and cloth are all very nice and clean. The passenger side door trim could use an armrest repair but it does the job
Mechanically this car is excellent. We just had the head gaskets replaced and a new set of lifters installed. It runs perfectly and idles very smooth an quiet. It has good compression and doesnt smoke at idle or under acceleration. The transmission shifts great and doesn't slip. The car has been serviced and has a fresh oil change as well as a recent coolant flush
Overall this car is gorgeous and a perfect example of the Gen 2 Trans Am Styling. This bird is sure to turn some heads. We highly encourage you to come see it in person
