1987 Mercedes Benz 560SL

Black / Creme Beige Leather

Original Window Sticker - $56k in 1987!

VIN: WDBBA48D9HA058021

Exterior:

- Please see the video accompanying the listing, as the car is shown in detail. Blemishes are all shown close-up and under direct sunlight.

- These cars look fantastic in black. Black paint presents extremely well. There are very few blemishes throughout. Paint gauge readings indicate that about half the car retains its original paint, while the hood, trunk lid, and passenger rear quarter have been resprayed. The rear quarter was resprayed following a minor rear-end collision in 1989, as noted on the CarFax, and the upward-facing panels were resprayed at some point presumin order to correct general wear.

- Glass and light lenses are all clear and crack-free.

- Chrome is in excellent shape throughout. No oxidation or damage.

- Wheels are in very nice shape and tires are close to new.

- There is a dent at lowest point of driver fender, hidden behind front bumper. There is also a spot of rust at the lowest point of the passenger fender, also hidden behind the front bumper.

- Hardtop is in excellent shape. No scratches, dings, or blemishes of any kind. Black soft top is in nice shape as well.

Interior:

- Seats show very little wear. No scuffs or tears.

- Dash is excellent. No cracks or real signs of age up top. “Wood” trim is in nice shape, with no major cracks or peeling.

- All gauges are functional, though oddly the gas light remains on regardless of fuel level. Power windows are functional, as are all lights inside and out.

- Becker Grand Prix radio is not functioning

- Fan/heat/climate control are functional, though R12 air conditioning is not.

- Unfortunately the odometer is not ticking, it is stuck at 96,908. The carfax indicates mileage as 74k in 2005, and overall condition is certainly consistent with a sub-100k car, but we cannot verify exact mileage. We have to imagine it's extremely close to the 96,908 odometer reading.

Under the Hood / Underbody:

- This car runs and drives extremely well. There are absolutely no tendencies of concern. We'd feel completely comfortable flying in and driving the car home regardless of destination. The car starts up first turn, idles quiet, steady, and cool, tracks and brakes straight, and accelerates smoothly and with impressive power. Tires are in excellent shape; as it sits, this car is in need of nothing. As far as GT cars go, this is about as enjoyable of a ride as it gets.

- Underbody is in very nice shape. Please take a look through the underbody photos as it's shown in detail. No damage and free of rust with the exception of a small spot on the exhaust. This car has clearly been garage-kept and responsibly owned.

Overall this is a nicely-sorted, well-presented example that feels great on the road. Feel free to reach out to Jake at 773-267-2684 with any questions, requests, or to discuss purchasing.
