VIN: ZFABS00A0C7145036

We purchased this '82 X1/9 from a local gentleman who had owned the car for the last five years. The car served as a fun, around-town summer driver throughout his ownership, and as it sits now, is nicely sorted and ready to be enjoyed. Recent services include new engine and trans mounts, brake hoses, and tires. The vehicle history report shows a clean, 3-owner history with records in Illinois dating back to 1996.

Exterior:
- Please see the video along with the listing, as the car is shown in detail.
- The previous owner resprayed the car in 2014. While it presents nicely, the job was not done to a high standard. There isn't much of any dust under the paint or anything like that, but there's overspray in the door sills and a spot under the rear bumper where the original metallic blue paint is visible. Hood and trunk lid, while covered by an aluminum-plating-looking sticker (can be peeled off), was also painted.
- Body is in nice shape, with no significant dents or damage.
- Wheels are in excellent shape, with no curb rash or damage. Hankook tires are in great shape and are relatively new.
- Glass is clear and crack-free.

Interior:
- Original interior is in good shape. We love the interior layout of these cars. Driver's seat has a burst seam on the seat bottom, as well as a tear on the cloth outer bolster. Please defer to the photos and video.
- Odometer reads 77,160 and is functional and believed to be accurate. Fuel gauge is not functional, and the fuel light stays on.
- Clarion head unit is functional. Plays tapes, not the radio.
- Dash top has three pretty significant cracks.
- Fan/defrost is functional. No air conditioning.

Under the Hood / Underbody:
- Please take a look through the underbody photos, as the car is documented in detail. Front and rear trunk corners are nice and dry. The car is structurally sound, though there is some rust at the forward corner of the driver's floorboard. Nothing too concerning, but it is rusting through. No exhaust leaks.
- 1498cc Inline-4, mid-engined. Car runs and drives extremely well. With the extremely light weight (2000lbs) and mid-engined layout, the car is an absolute blast to drive. Front and rear trunks is convenient too. While the X1/9 won't impress anybody in a straight line, it is a tremendous momentum car. Very lively, very fun. 5spd manual shifts quick and smoothly. The car starts right up, idles cool and steady, winds out through the gears without any hesitation, shifts nicely, tracks straight, and brakes effectively. A well-sorted car.
