1963 Volvo L3314A Laplander

Type: L3314A
Chassis/VIN: 2623
Engine: Volvo Penta AQ130 (#41767/68162), 130hp

We purchased this awesome camper-conversion '63 Laplander from a gentleman in Arizona. He had owned the truck for five years, having bought it out of Wisconsin in 2014, soon after the interior conversion was carried out. That owner believed the truck to be formerly of the Norwegian Armed Forces, though we have nothing to confirm that. We're big fans of these oddball Volvos, and to see one of these super capable, super short wheelbase vehicles converted into a camper is great. This is a fun-to-drive, well-equipped Laplander that is ready to be used and enjoyed by a new owner.

Exterior:
- Please see the video along with the listing, as the truck is shown in detail. Utilitarian, we'll call it. Emblems and wooden trim have been painted over, a shovel and fog lights are mounted up front, and a 10ft boat with a 2hp motor is on the roof. As far as condition, impressive cosmetics is pretty far past the point of this vehicle. No body damage, glass and light lenses are all clear and crack-free. Aftermarket lights are wired to the factory dash switch, rather than an add-on switch. Pop-out windscreen. Skylight and roof access. 8000lb winch. Roof-exit exhaust.

Interior:
Up front in the cabin is totally stock. All the original tags and stickers on the dash are still in place, complete with Swedish text. Odometer indicates 32950 km, true mileage unknown. Green seats are free of any tears or noteworthy damage. Rear seats will come with the truck as well. Camper conversion in the rear includes a wood stove with chimney, oven, sink, vintage Coca Cola cooler, cabinets, couch, roll-out bed, blinds, and a latch for roof access. The truck will also come with a two person tent.

Mechanical / Underbody:
- Please take a look through the underbody photos, as the truck is shown in detail. Evidence of slow diff leaks, but no concerning rust or damage.
- Volvo Penta AQ130 motor, good for 130hp. Runs very well. Starts right up without fail, idles cool and steady, accelerates smoothly, shifts well, tracks and stops straight. Top speed is actually a bit higher than you may think, all things considered. Online sources say 70mph, Swedish sticker on the dash says 70kph; having driven it at 45mph, 65mph seems a realistic top end.
