We purchased this beautiful '95 XJS Convertible from a woman in Downers Grove, Illinois who had owned the car since new. This car has been babied and garage-kept since the day she brought it home from Imperial Motors of Wilmette, IL in June of '95. The car has been serviced almost exclusively at the original selling dealer through the years, and will come with a tremendous amount of documentation, including 40+ pages of service receipts, as well as the original manuals and stamped service booklet. Please see the end of this listing for a summary of the service history. As it sits now, this car is truly in need of nothing other than a new owner who will use and enjoy it. Buy with confidence, this is certainly one of the good ones.

Exterior:
Please see the walkaround video along with the listing, as it provides a close look at the car. The car was repainted once in 2011 in the correct color (Topaz Metallic) and it looks great. Paint work was done to a high standard and appears as-factory. Blemishes are limited to chipping along the driver's rocker, as well as a couple light scratches on the hood/fender that, in all honesty, would more than likely come right out with a good buffing. Polished surfaces are all mirror-like, not oxidized or tired-looking at all. Glass is all clear and crack-free, as are light lenses. Weatherstripping is all in excellent shape, not dry or cracked. Wheels are in beautiful shape, having been professionally refinished about 7k miles ago. Yokohama tires are in good shape but are older than would be ideal; a receipt indicates they were new in 2004. Dark brown convertible top is excellent – no damage, rear glass is nice, and the powered top functions just as it should. Boot cover matches the interior, fits well, and is in great shape. Doors open and close nice and smooth, and panel gaps are spot on throughout.

Interior:
Again, please defer to the photos and video. Creme leather is in excellent shape. Driver's outer bolster has one small scuff but overall, pretty impressive. Seats are nice and supportive, not worn or blown-out. Dash top is free of any cracks or damage. Wood portions look great, not scratched up or tired-looking, though there are a couple hairline cracks backward of the gear lever. Carpet is good not great; very little for showing age, but there is a small grease stain in the center of the rear carpet. Radio is functional. Analog clock is functional. Heat and fan are functional. Air conditioning has been converted to R134a freon and the compressor does kick on, though it does not blow cold. We can charge the AC prior to shipping out if desired, but cannot guarantee that it will hold a charge. Power windows, mirrors, and seat adjusts are all good. Power top is functional. Handbrake is good. Interior lights are all functional. Odometer reading of 95k is known to be accurate and verified by dealer service records going all the way back to new. Gauges are all good, and there are no active warning lights. Car is ready to go.

Underbody/Under the Hood:
Please take a look at the underbody photos, as the car is documented in detail. Car looks great underneath. A little dirty, but totally solid and free of rust. No active leaks or damage. Little dabs of blue and yellow factory paint are still clearly visible on many components.

This car runs and drives phenomenally well. It starts right up first turn, idles cool and steady, is nice and silent both at idle and at speed, has excellent ride quality, pulls hard through the gears, shifts smoothly and on-time, and stops straight and effectively. Wouldn't hesitate to road trip in it tomorrow.

There are many, many service records that will come with the car, dating all the way back to when the car was new. Services were all performed at Imperial Motors, the dealer who originally sold the car. While there are dozens of additional receipts for oil changes, bulb replacements, wiper blades, etc, the following points summarize the more major services:
