We purchased this stunning '36 Mercedes 500K Roadster replica by Heritage from a gentleman in Michigan. This is unquestionably the nicest of all the pre-war Mercedes tribute cars we've seen. Having covered only 2000 miles since being factory built at Heritage in Miami, this example is just about as close to new as they come. While so many tributes and replicas look awkward or incomplete, this car is truly finished to a very, very high level. If you're itching to see a showroom-fresh 500K in your garage but don't have seven figure dollars to throw around, this car makes a whole lot of sense. The GM-derived drivetrain means excellent usability and relative practicality, as well as simpler and more cost-effective maintenance.

Exterior:
Please see the video along with the listing, as the car is shown in detail. Condition is pretty outstanding. Consistent with just 2000 miles of careful road use and delicate storage. Paint is free of any scratches or significant chips. Gold pinstripes are excellent and uninterrupted. Polished surfaces are all mirror-like, no oxidation or pitting whatsoever. Glass and light lenses are all clear and crack-free. Wire wheels and hubcaps are free of any curb rash, oxidation, or other damage. Whitewall tires are in great shape, not dry or worn. Black convertible top appears like new, with no damage or fraying. Rear plastic window is nice and clear, not creased or yellowed. Top is manually operated.

Interior:
Again, please defer to the photos and video. Interior is in excellent condition. Tan leather is free of any punctures or scuffs. Radio is functional and sounds great. Heat and fan are functional. R134a air conditioning does kick on and seemingly does blow cold, but honestly, it's so cold in Chicago at the moment that it's hard to know for certain if it's actually cooling air. Regardless, compressor is functional and it is on R134a Freon, as opposed to R12. Gauges are all functional and odometer reading of 2,095 does indicate actual mileage. Power windows are functional, power locks are functional. Lights (including spotlights) and signals are all functional. Burgundy carpeting is really the only part of the interior that shows any age or wear, and even that is minor.

Mechanical / Underbody:
Please take a look through the underbody photos, as the car is documented in detail. Very, very clean. No rust, damage, or active leaks, which is nice to see. Car runs and drives quite well. It starts right up, idles cool, steady, and quiet, shifts smoothly and on-time, pulls hard, brakes straight and effectively, and tracks straight down the road. This car does have power steering, which is a huge plus. With the relatively modern GM drivetrain and excellent open-air cabin, this car is a real pleasure to drive. Buy with confidence; there aren't many left in this fantastic, low-mile condition.
