Delivered and sold new at Frank Mauro Olds of Evanston, Illinois in March of 1973, this beautiful '73 Ninety-Eight has remained in the hands of its adoring original owner ever since. He purchased his “vacation car”, as he called it, to be used to cruise the interstate from his Morton Grove, Illinois home to his California vacation home. He went almost every year in his full comfort-spec cruiser, and reportedly nearly every one of the 59k miles on the car were accrued on these vacation trips. We see a lot of low-mile, all-original survivors, and this one is truly, without question, one of the very best we've ever seen. A concours survivor-class-worthy car once the rear plastic filler panels are replaced. The original Cranberry Red paint is mint, and the interior looks and even smells like new. This car will come with excellent documentation, including the following: Original window sticker, Bill of Sale, purchase contract, dealer internal invoice and receipt, temp plate application, manuals and booklets, Ziebart receipt from when new, service records through the years, lots of period literature, and even the original thank you note from Oldsmobile's Chicago zone manager. This example is truly one in a million. Buy with confidence—this car is as good as they get.

Exterior:
Please defer to the photos and video, as the car is covered in detail. This car has not seen a spec of paint work. Body is really nice and straight, with nothing more than one super light door ding on each of the rear doors. No bubbling, not in the lowest corners or behind rocker trim. Bone-dry survivor. Glass and light lenses are all clear and crack-free with the exception of a small chip on the upper windshield. Windows were tinted with Solar Graphics smoke 35 tint in 1985 and the tint looks great, not peeling, scratched, bubbling or anything like that. Panel fitment is spot on, doors open and close nice and smoothly. Black vinyl top shows no scuffs, discoloring, peeling, etc. Extremely clean.

Interior:
Again, please defer to the photos and video. Freakishly nice. Black carpet is still shiny and plush, interior really does still smell like a new car. Air conditioning has been regularly maintained over the years and blows ice cold, still on R12 refrigerant, and topped-up in preparation for the sale. Optional Stereo
phonic radio is functional and sounds great, speakers are all in good order. CB radio is functional as well. Everything works. All gauges, interior lights, signals, fan, heat, cruise, power seat adjusts, power windows, locks. Original floormats are still with the car as well.

Underbody/Under the Hood:
Please take a look at the underbody photos, as the car is documented in detail. Really, really nice shape. This car was Ziebarted when new and well-taken-care-of since. Absolutely no rust or damage.

This car runs and drives beautifully – it truly feels like the low-mile survivor it is. The car fires right up first turn, idles silent and steady, stays cool, pulls effortlessly through the gears with no hesitation or stuttering, shifts smoothly and on-time, brakes straight and effectively, and tracks straight down the road. No noises or tendencies of concern whatsoever, and a truly surprising amount of get-up…even with the luxury equipment and big body, let's not forget this is a 455ci 4bbl car! Ride quality is truly outstanding. Buy with confidence, this is absolutely one of the very best Olds 98s on the road today.
