1928 Ford Model A Roadster Pickup
VIN: A196964
We're selling this super-cool '28 Model A on behalf of a local client. The car reportedly spent the overwhelming majority of its life in Northridge, CA and was in storage there between 1958 and 2015 before being modified/restored and eventually relocated to the Midwest in late 2018. As it sits now this is a sweet, bare-bones roadster pickup that can be used and enjoyed straightaway. Please take a look through the photos, as they show the car in detail. This car was actually part of a desert photoshoot for Hop Up Magazine a few years ago and appeared on the cover in a group shot – a copy of this magazine will come with the car.
Engine is a 1937 Ford Model A diamond block with an aftermarket head (stock compression), super touring camshaft, aluminum timing gear, counter-balanced crankshaft, leakless water pump, Weber carburetor, cast aluminum intake manifold kit, Mallory distributor by Bubba's Ignition, 12-volt GM alternator, Geardrive 36' Driveshaft Lake header. Transmission is stock, non-synchronized 1928 Model A.
Front end features Super Bell dropped axle with Posies reversed eye spring. Rear end is a '31 Model A, 3.78:1, Model T spring. Hydraulic brakes are '39 Ford, wheels are '36 Ford 5x10” with '36 hubcaps, tires are Firestone bias ply blackwalls and were replaced in January of 2019.
Body is '28 Roadster Pickup and the car will come with a 3” chopped windshield in box. Plywood bed. 1930 headlights with halogen bulbs (functional).
Interior features a vinyl-covered plywood bench seat with aircraft-style hook and loop seat belts. Odometer reads 58,973 and true chassis mileage is unknown. No soft top – this vehicle will need to be shipped in an enclosed trailer.
