Overdrive:
For sale is our 1968 Volvo P1800s - OVERDRIVE- Coupe. This car spent a good portion of its life in Virginia until it made the move with its previous owner to the midwest. We purchased the car and have been fortunate enough to enjoy a good chunk of our summer cruising it around some beach towns. This is a fantastic driver and an all around consistent car that has clearly been well cared for over the years. While it has quite a bit of originality it also has some custom styling that was added/altered over the years such as the interior and engine paint.

Exterior:
The exterior of this P1800s is quite nice and very presentable. The car was refinished a few years back in it's original Green colorway. The paint work was done to a hight level. We do see a few spots of oversray on some rubber trim but overall the paintwork looks great. We note a couple normal use scratches and chips as you might expect from a car that gets driven! There are some very subtle spots that show some bubbling in the paint, most like some small areas of rust which we are told have stayed the same size over the last number of years (lower fender on drivers side and rocker...view pics and video). The previous owner pointed out some drying of window gaskets. They do not leak and we elected to leave them as they are. The glass on the car is all consistent and nice. Chrome is all there and in great shape, short of some small oxidation spots and light peeling on the underside of front bumper. We also like to note that the original paint is visible inside the door jambs and doors which tell is this car has been in good shape for most of it's life. All in all this cars stands tall as you approach it !
Interior:
The aftermarket interior while far from the original style still looks really nice and era correct. It is in great shape short of some light cracking in the plastic on the AC unit and the drivers side door panel being slightly loose. All switches are functional as are the gages. We note some hairline cracks in the instrument cluster which is pretty common on these. The windows work properly as do all of the hardware components. We do note that the drivers side door check is a little weak and would benefit from being replaced. The steering wheel plastic has a few crack in it. The seatbelts are intact and work as they should.
Underbody:
Normal undercarriage from what we can see. What you see is what you get. There is evidence of prior undercoating. We left the underbody just as we found it. Everything looks nice and solid. Some normal drips and oil residue is visible but nothing that we feel requires attention at this time. All points on the frame appear solid and free from prior repaiar. Again, you will note some light bubbling on a couple lower panels but you can also see just how solid the frame and underbody of this car is. All rubbers are intact and most are still soft while we note some light dry aging on others. The carpet matches the curtains here, as they say.
Underhood:
Under the hood sits the bulletproof B18 Volvo powerplant. This car has FACTORY OVERDRIVE which you will notice on the underbody photos and also factory AC. You will note a newer and more efficient AC compressor has been added and it blows ice cold. The twin SU Carbs are dialed in perfectly and the car runs drives beautifully. All pull chokes and idle controls work with ease and help with cold starts and getting the engine up to temp.
Driving Impressions:
This P1800s drives out brilliantly and is an absolute blast to cruise. Everything about this car, on the road, is confidence inspiring. It makes great power, is properly tuned, has a good clutch feel, stops straight, rides quiet and smoothly, and keeps a smile on your face behind the wheel. I cannot say enought good things about this car on the road.
