This is just as it looks. This was a project that started nearly 40 years ago and was never finished off. As you can see we have nearly all the chrome and trim for the car, along with a host of other OEM parts. There are far too many parts to list but you can view pictures closely along with our video. As you can see there is some new chrome work on the bumpers etc. Cool factor….. the newspaper that was wrapped around the newly chromed bumper parts is dated from the mid 1980's! There is a very nice set of Rallye Wheels and new staggered tires.
The car is a complete roller and it fires up. Obviously, due to the age of the last time the project was moving along it will take some mechanical overhauling however most of the heavy lifting has already been completed. The engine in the car is cast as a 3782870 which is a 63/64 327CI Block. Crazy as it may be, we found the block sitting next to the car which is a 1958 283CI block (casting number 3737739) which appears to be bored .040in over and is honed and decked and ready to go. Engine stamping is FI206E which is a corvette block. So as far as we can tell we have the original block with the car.
The body is in great shape and has had some body work done on it. As you can see the left rear quarter may have been replaced at some point. We note some fiberglass work on the underside that would indicate that the quarter panel was replaced. The frame looks straight and solid so we believe any damage was cosmetic. The repair looks good on the outside and the car looks nice and straight front to back.
Under the hood sits a 63/64 327ci motor that is mated to a Muncie 4 Speed. The car fires and is drivable although we did not try to draw fuel from the fuel cell. The fuel cell appears to be in great shape, we even have a nice spare to go with it.
This is an excellent opportunity to finish a car that is already in a great spot. You could do this at home in your garage or take it the full distance. Either way we are excited to find the right buyer for this awesome opportunity.
